Bumpkin

Bumkin was not expected to live past the age of 1
He had surgery to remove his tail because it was impeding his urinary output increasing urinary infections, he also had his deformed front claws removed and currently is doing well in his foster home.

Kitten named Jackson --- Water Meter person found the kitten stranded on the sidewalk. Jackson still had its umbilical cord when it was found its eyes closed – Jackson lived for 4 weeks – he had multiple infections that could not be overcome.
This is one of two kittens named Buttons
This Buttons was throw out of an moving car she sustained broken jaw and was degloved on the jaw down the neck. The jaw was wired and then used a button to hold the skin in place. This button kitten did not make it – however the calico kitten Buttons has survived and in its forever home.
Blitzen & Rudy– Rudy has a cleft palate – he will have surgery – they will put braces on top and bottom Mouth – they will close the open passage to his nasal cavity. Rudy was born November 20th – Blitzen went to a forever home after he helped his little brother Rudy to get well (and to prevent Rudy from getting spoiled rotten)
Rudy's surgery was postponed, he was X-rayed on Monday as a precaution prior to his scheduled surgery and a spot was seen on the X-ray. The Vets were not sure if it was something he inhaled in to his lungs through his cleft palate or a congenital defect. Experts are going to be consulted and a decision will be made about rescheduling his surgery for Wednesday.
New.....His surgery is now scheduled for February 17 th , Rudy is now in his forever home, I received an email from his new mom..... "Here are some pics of Rudy in his forever home. His surgery is scheduled for 2/17. He has totally settled in here and is the sweetest kitten!"
An update on Rudy... "His surgery this past Wednesday went very well; the doctor was able to do everything that she needed to do to close off the opening into his nasal passage. Now we just have to see if it "takes" and heals up nicely. He came home on Friday and you could tell that he was very happy to be home!"
Angel - she was found at a refrigeration company starving, near death by a caring animal control officer. Angel was frost bitten and hit by a car – she lost part of her tail, part of her digits, a pin was placed in her hip and some of her ear fell off. Angel has miracuously recovered and is in her forever home.
Bailey – former owner had kicked her in the jaw causing the jaw to be broken and severed the tongue. The jaw was broken in seventeen places. We had to place nine different pins in the bottom jaw. Bailey was approximately 1 years old at this time. Bailey had to be hospitalized for almost two weeks. She is having fun in her new better forever home.
Kittens just came in --- we consistently get urgent calls from shelters and emergency room staff asking for assistance with neonates as they do not have the resources to care for these newborns.
Yorkies – These babies came to us whit their eyes closed and umbilical cords still attached – the mother died during birth – a vet contacted us asking to assist – two boys and one girl - - once they were old enough and strong enough they went to their forever homes.
Maltese puppy – the puppy's mother ate 3 of the legs - unfortunately the owners delayed treatment and it was not brought to our organization until gangrene had already set in. This puppy is at the rainbow bridge.
Sophie with Bumpkin – Sophie's arm was caught in a cage – the leg had to be amputated. Sophie recovered nicely and currently plays in her forever home.
Blue – Blue is a Blue Pitbull – Blue came from a large litter – he was the runt of the litter – very lethargic – he had systemic bacterial infection, he spent two weeks in the hospital receiving treatments, and one of the vet techs fell so much in love with this furry baby that she adopted him.
-Baby Boston, a Boston Terrier . A vet called about this puppy who was one of a large litter. The puppy had a cleft palate and cleft nose. We took the puppy to a specialist who said we could the problem with six or seven surgeries but it would not be fair to the puppy to put him through the pain. The specialist did not think it would improve the puppys quality of life nor prevent any possible infections. This specialist said that even if this was her own personal puppy – she would not put this animal through the pain. Baby Boston is resting peacefully on the rainbow bridge.
Kitty in the collar ---- these litter mates would feed off of each other --- these kittens were in a feed store that caught fire – they were so traumatized they would suck on the other kittens genitalia. These kittens were forced to wear an e-collar so they would not injure each other anymore. Some of the kitten had to have surgery from their injuries at $900 each. These kittens are now adopted in their forever homes.
and
Toby
Toby – one of three kittens and he ended up a the specialist for a dilated and distended colon – Toby was unable to maintain any weight – his blood sugar would drop suddenly - the specialists hoped that they could do surgery to correct the problems however during surgery there was too much damage to save this kitten – this kitten is resting peacefully at the rainbow bridge.
